Our Story

HI, I'm Sarah, a fashion designer and the creator of the

BOHO LUXXE brand.  I started making barbie clothes when I was very young and always knew I wanted to be a designer when I grew up.   My mom taught me how to sew and she was very patient with me.  I still love being a creator and passionate about everything fashion.  

 

Fast forward and working for 3 decades in this career I now want

to create without harming the environment.  Unfortunately, the fashion industry is a top polluting industry and we need to try to change that.  Fashion production makes up 10% of humanity’s carbon emissions, dries up water sources, and pollutes rivers and streams. What’s more, 85% of all textiles go to the dump each year  and washing some types of clothes sends significant amount of micro plastics into the ocean.

I have always been a Levi's fan.  In fact I wrote a report about Levi Strauss in the 5th grade and was determined to work for them.  I did end up working there for 6 years of my career.  Now I am using vintage Levi's in my products.

BOHO LUXXE was born from the desire to live in a more balanced world, without creating excess waste.  Slow fashion is the new fast fashion.  

 

I create beautiful one-of-a-kind luxury styles from previous owned garments.  My goal is to save clothing from ending up in the

land fill. 

 

In addition,  I offer unique organic cotton t shirts with uplifting messages to wear with the hand-crafted jackets.  I support family farms in India that grow organic cotton.

Each product is designed by using gently used garments as a canvas and re working them into a new masterpiece.   I use every scrap possible to eliminate waste.

I  I have  a strong passion for creating sustainable products.  It's important for me to create beautiful garments that will not produce more pollution, micro plastics, and water consumption.
